Identification : Picture taken on April 26th 1899 at the photo studio of Stanislas Belle in [Fraserville] Rivière-du-Loup Province of Québec.

Jean-Alexandre Têtu born to Félix Têtu & Mathilde Duberger on December 10th 1839 in the Parish of Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Comté de Trois-Pistoles Québec. He was married to Marie Joséphine Marguerite [Virginie] Pia Jones daughter of Joseph Thomas Henry David Jones & Marie Emma Joséphine Têtu in the Parish of St-Patrice de Rivière-du-Loup Comté de Témiscouata on October 17th 1893. Two children were born out of this marrige (one in 1894 and the second one in 1895). Sadly, both infants died just a few hours after birth.

Then, Jean-Alexandre Têtu wife died March 16th 1895 and she is buried in the Saint-Patrice Cemetery, Rivière-du-Loup, Comté de Témiscouata, Province of Québec.

As far as Jean-Alexandre, he died of drowning in the St-Lawrence River. His body was found on the shore of Sillery on September 21st 1921.

Ghislaine, thank you for this wonderful trove of information! What a sad life Jean-Alexandre had - so many tragedies!
In the next few weeks I will try to put up the rest of this album. (lots of very interesting images, not many as fine as this portrait, though).
