Victor Prilleux by Disdéri
Victor Prilleux (1814-1876); French bass.
As a member of the Opéra-Comique he sang at numerous premières. The most known are:
“Le carnaval de Venise” by Ambroise Thomas (1857); “Les chaises à porteur” by Victor Massé (1858) as Bouvard; “Les trois Nicolas” by Clapisson (1859) as Le Marquis de Villepreux; “Le diable au Moulin “ by Gevaert (1859) as Bonieface. This opera was specially dedicated to Prilleux by the composer.
Further on he sang at the première of “Le roman d’Elvire” by Ambroise Thomas (1860) as Malatesta;
“Le Château Trompette” by Gevaert (1860); “Béatrice et Bénédict” by Berlioz (1862) as Somarone; “La fiancée du Roi de Garbe” by Auber (1864) as Babolin; “Le capitain Henriot” by Gevaert (1864) as Pastorel; “Le premier jour de bonheur” by Auber (1868) as Bergerac and “Rêve d’amour” by Auber (1869) as Bertand.
