Alexandre Gourdin by Numa Blanc (2)

Alexandre Gourdin (1842-1865); French baritone who died at the very early age of 23. He made his debut in 1860 at the Opéra-Comique in Paris. He sang various premières: the role of Claude in Cohen's "Maître Claude" (1861), Baskir in David's "Lalla Roukh" (1862), Ezzelin in Maillart's "Lara" (1864) and Capitain Parole in David's "Le saphir" (1865).

On the photo he is seen as Baskir in David's "Lalla Roukh".
