Fresh Water Flows Directly Into Saltwater

Fresh Water Flows Directly Into Saltwater
This shot also had previously been on Panoramio, and my comment then was: I thought this was an unusual scene, because in most East Coast sandy-beach areas, fresh water makes its way to the ocean via estuaries, bays or meandering through marshes. Here, a fresh water stream pours out of a fresh water lake at the foot of a remnant of a mature coast-hardwood forest, cuts through the dunes, and riffles its way directly across the beach. Unfortunately, the forest and lake and this stream are all gone: bulldozed to make way for a tourist resort; a true historical and ecological disaster.

A fine capture here Wally. I can't remember this on Panoramio though :) Sad that once again nature is bulldozed away to make up for man's appetite for self indulgence.

Once again my thanks for your many visits and comments to my photos during 2018.

That is really sad. What a legacy we will leave behind, - hotels where the rich can enjoy being pampered instead of natural beauty to be enjoyed by all. A lovely shot here though. Love the 'rippled' effect. Happy New Year to you.

Eine wunderschöne Aufnahme Wally, die mir sehr gefällt, mich aber zugleich sehr traurig macht! So wird unsere Erde Stück für Stück zerstört!
