Men-an-Tol (holed stone)

Men-an-Tol (holed stone)
Unknown purpose. Presumed to be neolithic. Healing powers were attributed to it at least since the middle ages (babies would be passed through the hole).
Near Lanyon Farm, Madron parish, Cornwall.

Every time I visit, there are some modern-day druids chanting the odd rite or two. A coachload of Americans were visiting last time - they all looked like normal elderly tourists until they all held hands in a circle and started chanting. I didn't want them in my photos so I took one or two shots and quietly left. A pity as I had wanted to take a few with nice backdrops. But blue-cagouled American mystics, or whatever, wasn't in my plans at all!
