The Queen and Prince Philip, mid-1960s

The Queen and Prince Philip, mid-1960s
Captured by my father, probably in Londonderry, N. Ireland. He said he was simply walking along a street and suddenly there was a lot of commotion ahead. Then the Queen zoomed by only a few feet from him!

Smiley Derleth, Frans Schols, m̌ ḫ, Günter Klaus and 10 other people have particularly liked this photo

Very nice, and a contemporary document that not everyone has.

Yes! It does look very much like that, Jean Paul. I was 16, at school practicing with the band outside and someone ran to us, frantically yelling something. We all remember, exactly, don't we? An awful time. Speaking of trauma, I still feel frightened by an image of a plane overhead, flying above a tall building!
