Sometimes, when I'm at an abandoned place, it's tempting to pick something up and put it in my pocket. Not that I would EVER have a use for it, it's just the principle of it...an obviously unused bolt that's just rusty! There's a very fine line between that kind of thinking and hoarding. ;-b

Oh, and the doormat was like new, too!

Think of Kurt Schwitters, a joyful and brave artist who was always on the look out for interesting scraps of things in the street for his collage works. I love this, the photograph makes something loved out of it, as well as lost.

I remember Schwitters and his work. There is something extra-moving to me about things made of junk and scraps. Otherwise known as "found objects" on Planet Art.
