My mushroom rock again!

What's the history? How many times have you rediscovered it?
Are there Smurfs?
It looks very symbolic as the other stones lay around it.
Mushroom kingdom.

Between 2012, when I first stumbled across it and about 2015, I suppose I'd re-discovered it about half a dozen times, Ke. It's situated at the eastern end of the Sierra and is some way from my bus back to Madrid so I used to see it only on a planned longer walking trip with a clear idea of the time of the last bus back to Madrid!
But I don't walk in the mountains so often now (about once a year!) due to health reasons and the fact that my girlfriend prefers flatter ground because she gets quite severe vertigo!
My mushroom rock is one of many fantastic shapes that some forms of granite can throw up!
I like La Sierra de La Cabrera because It is small enough for me to discover all the paths and accessible scrambles along the ridge, yet large enough to be constantly surprised by something new or different! Also it isn't touristy at all. All the sightseers, walkers, climbers, families on a day outing etc., go to La Perdriza, some way to the west which has the same granite and even more spectacular shapes, often in animal forms, etc. I simply prefer the quiet and peace of La Cabrera. Even if it is a little bit less of a granite extravaganza, it is perfect for me!

Well, maybe, Keith but January can be t-shirt weather or it can be snowed up and inaccessible to the likes of me. August can be hell, or pleasantly breezy and a delight away form the furnace of Madrid! No two years or seasons are the same!
