I can smell it! I confess I can't be bothered to grind my coffee though it's much better that way!

I don't grind mine anymore, either. I did that for years and for some reason I just stopped. Honestly, I don't remember it being 'much better' that way. This is from the box that the coffeemaker came in. Danke, Gudrun!

Well I have a grinder but I have a very good coffee place at the market nearby and they grind it for me. As I tend to go for a three-way blend, it is much less fiddly if they do it! I buy in fairly small quantities so keeping it in top aromatic condition isn't a problem.

Yes, that's the key, small quantities. My parents used to buy 2 lb. cans of Folgers. It was bad to begin with, but it soon got so stale that it was just horrible. I just could not drink their weak, stale 1950s coffee!
