I notice what I call the Earthshoe trend in auto design. It's toward the bulbous, blunted shape. It might also be called the Winnie the Pooh shape. We're a few years out from a return to lean angles, "muscle", I think, if ever.

That's funny, Smiley, so right! The weird thing I noticed, I guess about 10 years ago, was all the products that started looking, as you say, rounded and also swoopy, trimmed with faux rubber and "raked." The analogy I thought of was athletic shoes: toothbrushes, razors, SUVs, the kind of pocket knives boys like, baby strollers, car seats...

Yes, that's true. I am not putting them down, but Target stores' shopping cart is like what we're both talking about: a full size Fisher-Price toy. :)
