Castleshaw and its reservoirs

Castleshaw and its reservoirs
A panoramic stitch of four photos showing the two reservoirs here (Upper and Lower Castleshaw). One of our favourite walks follows the valley from left to right and over the far end dam wall before retracing our path back. It is always somewhat muddy and damp but quite beautiful too.
“Castleshaw Roman fort was a castellum in the Roman province of Britannia. Although there is no evidence to substantiate the claim, it has been suggested that Castleshaw Roman fort is the site of Rigodunum, a Brigantian settlement.”

Best full screen and zoomed.

Not sure how Ipernity has calculated this at 15.8mm as the 4 shots were 38mm each.

Thanks Steve -yes you are right about showing the full area here. I have some other nice panoramic views from around here too but the remarks by Keith below makes me hesitate as I know he has a real ppoint.

Take care. Herb

A beautiful landscape...............and a well taken panorama. However, I don't think it displays too well on IP Herb.........and it's difficult to view unless you follow your recommendation to view large and then zoom! Not your fault of course, I'm not sure how else it could be displayed.

Hi Keith and once again I thank you for dropping by. I take on board your comment here as I have had the same thoughts when seeing other panoramic shots on here from other people. I kept this photo at a whopping 6000 pixel sized width to display at its best and when I look at the exact same photo I uploaded here via the windows Phot viewer it looks far sharper than the Ipernity version. I know navigating these panoramic pictures is also a problem for some, especially on laptop/palmtops/phones. Maybe i will hold fire with posting more on here?

It's difficult isn't it. I'm not sure I'm much help........... but it may be worth asking someone on the IMA team to see if there's any technical problems in displaying panoramic images on IP.

Good to see you again Gordon. It is a grand view from up here and a natural spot for a panoramic series. I have made a few more pano's from around here but not yet published. I wonder if your viewing experience of this was marred a little, but I get to think you saw it OK.
