A few of our hills have got big parts missing because of these walls over the centuries but the biggest culprits are roads and buildings for sure. All in all though, climate has more to do with all that I think. ~ Glad you enjoyed this.

Great light in this one Herb................and lovely warm colours, especially in the foreground. The silver birch tree is beautiful - I can see why you like it so much.

I have to say that the PiP is my favourite shot of the two.........the tree is much more "on show" and it looks superb against the sky. The dry stone wall draws the eye straight to it. I made some similar comments back in Feb last year and I haven't changed my mind since.

Thanks for this keith and spoken from the heart i believe. I like both of these shots with each quite a different light but light is the key to them both. As said to Judite above, another different light of the same tree tomorrow. Of course the walls were of importance here too.

Yes it does looks somewhat Autumnal I must admit even though it is plainly Winter as it was taken in December. These grasses often keep this red auburn colour throughout the year and that is enhanced somewhat with this rare low side-lighting. Yes, maybe snows in a bit but there already has been some but I was not there.
