Looking North over Wastwater
Back to my limited summer of 2020 holidays, here we are at one of Britain's most beautiful lakes. A lake sometimes spoken of as the most mysterious one with a complete side very steep and often dark and dangerous. Its also our deepest lake at 258ft created by glacial erosion. Again we are seeing the impressive Yewbarrow directly in front of us but this time we also see the pointed peak of Great Gables (899 m) looking like a great pyramid.

Thanks a lot for this visit my friend. I think we saw that Inn when we were last here, at the most Northern part which we did not go to this time. We were lucky with the weather on this day -in fact the best weather of the week..

Imposing and stunning glacier lake
They tell a relatively recent past of the last glaciation

From the thumbnail................I thought you'd been off visiting the fjords in Norway :-))

Beautiful light and shadows on those hills...........especially the contrast between those in the background and those in the foreground. The light on the water is especially nice.

From this point it is a bit like that and, yes I know some Norwegian Fjords too. Without a doubt a favourite lake for me. I was lucky this day with grand delicious lighting. Good that you enjoyed the narrative too. More to come yet.
