Two superb images Herb...............the birds are beautiful enough, but add in that magnificent background and you have a pair of real winners.

The image in the PiP is my favourite of the two just because I like the eye contact. It doesn't seem very pleased to be having it's photo taken :-))

Glad you liked them Keith. I know that you like this sort of scene yourself. Like you, I preferred the other front on capture but it was not as sharp as this and so went into reserve place.

Yes, it is even better without the sound of planes overhead too. I awoke at daybreak this morning with a rare open window to the bathroom and the cacophony of bird song was deafening. In that I have always realised how luck I am to live in such an 'Urban' area!!! We do have a lot of trees in our gardens though and as you know i do my best to keep them in food.

Well, there's your answer to him dancing about Herb, ha ha! Two beautiful shots. I wish I could get some as clear as this! I have had a couple of thrushes in the garden, but they are so shy and quick to move, even when I think they won't see me. I'm still trying to get a shot though!!

So glad you liked it Rosa (not sure if this is him or her as I missed the moment of intimacy a few moments before - rushing to get tripod) - We very fortunately this year have a pair of thrushes in the gardens and aren't they delightful creatures. I almost want to set up my camera on the tripod permanently to capture them from our dining room. Without a tripod and long lens -getting these are a very touch and go experience as you know doubt know. Keep at it, I am sure you will get your wish for a nice sharp bird shot soon. Your close up flowers are always sharp!
