Common Buzzard (Buteo buteo)

Common Buzzard (Buteo buteo)
Maybe common, but not to me. I heard this first by its plaintive mewing call that could be mistaken for a cat. I believe there are a few of these in Britain but as I said, not where I live.
Seen near the village of Alternun in Cornwall.

John Goodwin, , Marije Aguillo, Ste and 3 other people have particularly liked this photo

I have seen many in Cornwall, but in the days before I took photos!

Thanks Andy. I managed a full series of this magnificent bird ducking and diving before it went into its final dive after some prey. It mat be that I have seen them before, but not until now did I know what they were. I too missed many a shot before I got into photography.
Cheers, Herb

You might want to change the title to Buzzard from Bizzard, Herb!

Caught me again Andy! Same excuse as last time. Concentrating too much on Latin name and missing another typo! Anyway -keep up the good work!

Thanks Steve. I know that you are quite an expert on ornithology compared with me and I have always admired your many bird photos. Wow, 15 at one go, almost as many as our back-garden sparrows. Lucky you. Cheers for this visit and comment my friend. Herb
