This is a very impressive building...........but I don't see it as particularly beautiful - it's all a bit pointy and angular for my taste. That said, you've captured it in fantastic detail and it looks great against the blue sky.

Late gothic, never heard from this place. I think the best are the Sainte Chapelle and the church of Chartres.

I've just checked out the PiPs Herb...............and it's easy to see how beautiful the inside is..!! Thanks for posting them.

Looks like a good one to visit to make up ones own mind, but I'm sure that King Henry IV knew what he was talking about ~ You certainly caught it on a good day Herb :~)

Nice to see you again Nick. In truth this was not perhaps the most impressive view. I imagine at the time of only surrounding fields and the nearby river Seine the front view of the whole would have been most grand. yes here the blue skies caught up with us.

Great to see you and your thoughts again Peter. You are right about the beauty in the eye of the beholder. I too have visited the great Paris Notre Damme, at least twice (before digital) and in fairness cannot doubt your conclusion. Thanks for your link on which I shall now travel.
