RCW 38 - do look at this full screen.

RCW 38 - do look at this full screen.
An area I have always known of but never looked at it . So for every body benefit what follows is a look at the process. Remember this a B/W camera with different coloured filters, you will note that while they are all B/W the detail in each is very different to the rest. RCW 38 is 100% center of shot A star forming region of space..... Remember this is all new to me as well as I feel my way.

Ha shows up the Hydrogen in the shot and as the most abundant element out in space, the Ha shot has the most detail.

Ha mono

SII shows up the sulphur component in the shot

SII mono

O3 shows up the Oxygen component in the shot. In this shot you can see why I have purchased a new set of narrow band filters the huge halo on the big star.

O3 mono

The Narrow band stars and why you have a better chance with RGB stars

Narrow band stars

Once Combined in Pixinsight in what order depends the colours you get this is Combined in the Hubble pallet SII Ha O3

3: 30 hours of stacking all the shot at the same time, 1:30 H in editing to get this shot quite a lot of the process on my old computer take 5 min or more to run, this is why the time for editing is so high. You can see why this is so popular as a way of shooting the stars far more detail and finer detail than a normal colour camera.

Marvellous detail, Steve, and fascinating detail on the process involved. I must confess I wouldn't have the patience, but I'm glad to be able to enjoy your work. :-)

Thank you it was something I always wanted to try but never did because the colour camera just did not cut it. its true I have a bit of patience as I do also bonsai as well no rushing them at all. I am sure if you started you would find it just as interesting as well.

Another wonderful image that defies belief and rationalisation. Looking at the main coloured images, one cannot believe they have been taken by an amateur from their own little yard garden. As always, your patience and willing to experiment as well as learn has paid of admirably. Images to be proud of here. I salute your SIR. ⭐ ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)

Herb I thank my father and his books and the digital age as it very slowly got better first wide field space photography looking at the milky way.

Core Of the Milky way- full size is best.

next came the idea what is out there.

A new year and a Whole lot of learning

Here we are 5 years later

New telescope

As you say just a very average Joe in the city the gear is still simple compare to the huge telescopes in my fathers book but on finding the book my images are far better.

One thing I am doing is continuing to learn not matter what and pushing my own boundaries... Many thanks glad you are also still enjoying the Image That show up from time to time.
