Mere Cemetery and a challenge for Rosa
What can be found in the cemetery that is unusual, Rosa? The photo and the PiP gives you a clue, but I guess you may already know.

Another PiP is available for Rosa and everyone else.

Well here is the answer to the mystery. There is a War Graves Commission stone with two names on it in this cemetery. According to a local it is because J.E. Chalk, who loved horses, wanted to join the army at the beginning of WW2, and was deemed to be too old. He then emigrated to Canada, changed his name and joined the Royal Canadian Army Veterinary Corps. I have yet to verify this, but I don't think that there can be many War Graves with 2 names on them.

This could be embarrassing Amelia ;-)) As it's a dead end, no pun intended, I haven't been down Angel Lane for years. All I can think of is that there are two chapels in Commonwealth graveyard. The only other thing I know is they found 400 Roman coins in an urn once when digging there! I don't think I have ever taken a picture, but once you tell me the answer, I think I had better make the trip!

You find things in and around Shrewsbury that we know nothing about, Rosa. We tend not to pay too much attention to where we actually live and get excited by away days.

You have some interesting graveyards both in Glasgow and Edinburgh, Joe, so I hope we'll be seeing some photos soon - particularly from the eastern regions of the country.

A beautiful photo (and fascinating PiPs) Amelia..............I've probably said this before, but during a walk around a graveyard with a camera you nearly always find something interesting to take photos of, especially the older ones.
