I'm thinking maybe potatoes, I thought plastic was supposed to be bad for the environment !!!

I agree with your comment about plastic. I hope this is biodegradable. I don't think this is a field of potatoes. Other local farmers have planted potatoes in open 'drills' with no protection. I have seen this method used for sweet corn ... but who knows.

We see a lot of fields like this around here now Amelia. I think the covers are biodegradable. It is always interesting to keep an eye and see what they are growing :-)
