Chirk tunnel from inside

Chirk tunnel from inside
Photo taken from inside the Chirk Tunnel looking towards the aqueduct. The tunnel is designed for a single standard narrowboat, so passing is not possible. On June 8th 2016 the Chirk canal tunnel was closed off as an historic murder probe continued. No body was found here.

Okay, this is getting ridiculous. This is the second photo relating to narrowboats I've seen today. And this as I read the book The Narrowboat Summer by Anne Youngson and literally today looked up online if I could ride in a narrowboat when I come to England next year. And now ipernity is filled with them! The book describes the tunnels and your photo helps complete the picture for me. Cool that there is a tow path through that one. I'm assuming they don't all have one inside the tunnel, but maybe I'm wrong.

Thanks for posting this. It's a great photo on its own and just sparks my interest just that much more.
