The façade of The Scottish Parliament

The façade of The Scottish Parliament
The inscription written here is engraved in granitunder the pen name Under the pen name Hugh MacDiarmid, Christopher Murray Grieve (1892-1978)

The rose of all the world is not for me.

I want for my part

Only the little white rose of Scotland.

That sharp and sweet - and breaks my heart.

Written under the pen name Hugh MacDiarmid, Christopher Murray Grieve (1892-1978) wrote these poignant words

Ian Wood, Berny, Don Sutherland, and 4 other people have particularly liked this photo

Ah, I didn't see this! I liked the overall architecture, but the details seem to have been given a lot of thought, too.

Many thanks, Gudrun, John, Lutz and Gisela. I like this side of the parliamen. There are some lovely quotes chiseled into the granite, but round the back there is far too much concrete which doesn't look good.

Did I ever tell you, Amelia, about the time when I noticed a mistake on this wall? I emailed parliament, and they rectified the fault... eventually. I can see the amendment in your photograph.
