  • One of the reasons I've not been on here much.....

I like the colours but I'll not do this pattern again!!!
Well apart from the fun of the internet or lack thereof ........ I've been so busy doing my Xmas pressie for one of my neighbours. I can tell you now - and you have my permission to shoot me (not literally though please) if I even show that I may do this pattern again. I saw this pattern on the internet, or a similar one and it jumped out of the page and I thought "Ooooh I like that" - It is so fiddly, and it's taken me more time to make it, than most of my last quilt!!!!!! I'm making a table…

  • And now? Happily updated.

This article was first written when ipernity management announced the imminent closure of the site, from about the end of January 2017. Things have moved on and, at last (!!! :)) , the site has passed fully to the Ipernity Members' Association. As this is my preferred site for friendly contact with other photographic enthusiasts, might I suggest to those of you who have been thinking of leaving, that you stay around and help make the site all the great things it could be. I've just lo…

  • Great news - at long last

    Tony and the kids
Hiya folks So sorry I've not been on here for a while, but I've been juggling my time for some obscure reason lately and I just don't seem to have had time to write any blogs etc. Well yesterday was a very special day - Thursday 14th September 2017 I became officially a GRANDMOTHER!!!!! The adoption panel was held that afternoon and Josh and Chloe are fully fledged members of our family. They are so lovely and well adjusted, considering what they've been through. They came up on Sunday…

  • Pippin in the sun and me choosing new colours....

You can hardly make him out..
Well the weather has certainly changed for the better and I only wish I felt good enough to get out and enjoy it more. Mind you - it is Bank Holiday and wherever I go, it's going to be heaving with people, which I don't really enjoy. I've opened my windows wide and so my lounge is open to the elements and fresh air is pouring in, in abundance. Pippin is enjoying himself outside - he's found a lovely spot that's semi-shaded and as fallen asleep - well he was asleep til I woke him up with the…

  • I am so blessed with my neighbours.....

    My new lawn mower
Richard from next door popped over this afternoon and brought his hedge trimmer with him and proceeded to attack the hedges and the branches which had overgrown tremendously over the past few weeks. I think it was just an excuse to see my new lawn mower which came the other day!!!! My older lawn mower gave up the ghost last week, I'd had it over 12 years and it had been second hand when I got it from a thrift shop for the grand sum of £10!!!! So it had served me very well, so I had to order a…

  • A glorious day

I awoke to the early mornig sun shining through my window,a perfect day for my plan to change the bedding. I collected my cleaning stuff snd det too, soon all was spick and span and the bedding changed. I have big plans in the offing for the bedroom when funs allow, more on that as it happens. After breakfast and 10 minutes amusing the cats I set the machinde going and was…

  • It was quite busy on the river.....

    Looking down river towards Instow
I just felt like getting out the other day but not wanting to go too far, I decided to just visit the river, which is about 2 miles from the main beach and a mile from the beach I go to watch the dogs. In fact you can make out the beach in the background. ... There were a pair of men trying to get their sailing boat out into the river. They had to wait a while for the Pilot tugboat to pass {causing quite a few waves} before they were free to go and enjoy their sailing. I wasn'…

  • Taking a short Break...

A lot has been going on in my life lately, and if you don't see much of me during the next few weeks, it's because I'll be taking a rest from all the websites I participate in. It seems that I've lost some of my enthusiasm for photography and just need to "recharge the batteries" so-to-speak. My deepest thanks and appreciation to all of my friends who have commented and faved my work over the years. Hopefully ipernity will have many more years for us to continue on as a community. I wish you a p…

Now that IP…

I have ordered a new laptop which will be here before the 2nd of August but till then I shall be having trouble getting photos up into Ipernity,. I shall try an old computer till my next laptop arrives but I'm not hopeful.

Firstly thank you for you kind greetings,I have asked Ellen to write on my facebook page to the messages I have there as I don't have enough hours in my day to answer all the people the who pop up if I go on. This morning started wonderfully,it was very warm by 8am sp I took a slow stroll to town for my shopping. By the time I returned it was really warm so it was T shirt, shorts and sandals and into the garden. Ellen was the first visitor as usual and she brought me a presentation box of stro…

  • Back in Circulation (I Hope)

I haven't been around for almost three months and several of you have asked whether I'm okay and whether I'm still active on Ipernity. Here's what's been happening. Back on March 22 I went in to emergency at the local hospital with what I thought and the doctors first thought was appendicitis. An abdominal drain was put in to drain off the expected infection with an appendectomy scheduled several weeks later. The abdominal drain, however, produced no signs of infection but rather a kind of…

  • Managed a sunset at last.......

The tide is coming in slowly
I went out last night - it looked as if it would be a good sunset and as I hadn't been out for a sunset for ages, I decided to go for it! I drove down to the same place in West Appledore as I'd been the other day. I would be facing the sunset and it was somewhere where I could park my car easily and it was a different view.... It was a tad chilly, although no wind, you could still feel that it wasn't a balmy night!!!! The tide was coming in, and the water was like a millpond - so calm…
