Morning rain gave way to sunshine which was good because I had clothes washing in the machine.
The sun after the rain will have done my surviving seedlings good as well as the recently seeded ones.

Alas the sun didn't stay all day and things are gloomy now but warm enough for me to have the window open. The cats love this of course and have been running in and out with only cat nap and food breaks to slow them down.

I am posting a photo of today's dinner because there are two items new to me and Jenny wants areport on the first which is a lamb joint(two actually one each) which although they look small were very tasty.Lamb joints aren't new to me of course just from this producer. The second some veg steamed in the microwave oven. The veg,Carrot, cauliflower and broccoli Ellen discovered when her pal Amanda cooked for her a little while ago. The veg was also a success ,I was worried about cooking times between the carrots and broccoli but they were done to a turn, very succulent and sweet. We finished off with a couple of tirimusu tarts, also very tasty. So we have full bellies, the cats are sleeping and all is good in our little corner of the world .Tirimusu tart is a coffee soaked sponge and creamy Marsala wine mousse topped with dark chocolate curls and a dusting of cocoa in a short crust pastry if you have another name for it in foreign climes

Fact of the day

In Victorian times, hedgehogs were sometimes kept in kitchens to control cockroaches.

Quote of the day

People are giving birth underwater now. They say it's less traumatic for the baby because it's in water. But certainly more traumatic for the other people in the pool.
