Still immobile. Hello friends, and Happy New Year to you all. I would like to thank all of you who so kindly sent me get well messages and emails. I appreciate it very much. A quick update for you, as I am typing this with one finger, on my phone. I still can't use my left arm at all, and being left handed, this has made life very difficult. The operation went ok, they put 3 screws in my shoulder. (I feel like Frankenstein, who had the bolts in his neck ;-) Two wires were also put…

I know some of my friends on here have been, and are going through the same thing. I will pop in as and when I can, meanwhile please bear with me. Keep well everyone, much love June xx

I was sent this in an email, and found it so true, I just had to share it with you........ AND THEN IT IS WINTER You know time has a way of moving quickly and catching you unaware of the passing years. It seems like yesterday that I was young, just married, and embarking on my new life with my mate. Yet in a way, it seems like eons ago, and I wonder where all those years went. I know that I lived them all. I h…

An elderly gentleman had serious hearing problems for a number of years. He went to the doctor and the doctor was able to have him fitted for a set of hearing aids that allowed the gentleman to hear 100%. The elderly gentleman went back in a month to the doctor and the doctor said, "Your hearing is perfect. Your family must be really pleased that you can hear again." The gentleman replied, "Oh , I haven't told my family yet. I just sit around and listen to the conve…

  • The spoon

    - 279 visits
Last week, we took some friends out to a new restaurant, and noticed that the waiter who took our order carried a spoon in his shirt pocket. It seemed a little strange. When the waiter brought our water and cutlery, I noticed he also had a spoon in his shirt pocket. Then I looked around and saw that all the staff had spoons in their pockets. When the waiter came back to serve our soup I asked, "Why the spoon?" "Well, "he explained, "the restaurant’s owners hired Andersen Consulting to reva…

Hello my friends. Just a quick update for you. On Weds I had the wires removed from my shoulder by local anaesthetic. The surgeon only wanted to remove one, then do the second one under a general anaesthetic later because it was in an awkward position. But I didnt want that hanging over me. Was going to be painful, but he said, "it's your call" So I said, do it all now and get it over with. Not only that, I think it would have prolonged the recovery time which I did not want. So I bit the…

The madam opened the brothel door to see a rather dignified, well-dressed good looking man in his late 40s or early 50s. "May I help you?" she asked. "I want to see Valerie," the man replied. "Sir, Valerie is one of our most expensive ladies. Perhaps you would prefer someone else," said the madam. "No, I must see Valerie," was the man's reply. Just then, Valerie appeared and announced to the man that she charged $1,000 a visit. Without hesitation, the man pulled…
