It's been a trying couple of days - the sky has been the same now - an overall cover of 'orrrible grey - all one colour and so depressing. Still I can't complain because I've had two weeks of gorgeous blue sky - apart from a couple of days when we had that storm. I suppose I can't complain neither because it's not been too cold, even though it's towards the end of October and I haven't had to put any heat on.

Anyway I decided to venture outside inbetween showers and have a look at my pots to see if there was any colour left and there was to my surprise.......

There weren't many flowers - only about 12 or so, and some were a bit bug-eaten as you can see and I don't know if I've captured one such beast here..........

but I suppose we all need food at this time of year........

Then I noticed that the Japanese Anemone is still flowering - it's been doing that since June and that's pretty amazing.......

Then I noticed that there was a fluffy plant inside one of the pots - don't recognise it, haven't seen it there before, but it looked good with the raindrops on it......

The nasturtium leaves looked fine too............

Then I walked over to my Lycesteria Formosa bush and couldn't believe my eyes - it's still flush with blooms - and has been since the end of May............

Usually at this time of year, I like to chop back plants ready for them to sleep and get all bushy next year - how can I do that if they are still flowering eh? Oh well I'll see what it'll be like next month. I'm going to ask Fred the Shed to come over and plant some spring bulbs for me and maybe he can chop back this bush - he's a gardener and will know what to do.

I have one more blog to do with regard to my holiday - so I'll try and do it tomorrow. So bear with me.
