Yesterday was a lovely day, mild but sunny and so I opened my lounge window to get some fresh air in and I noticed a rather large mushroom smack in the middle of the grass!!!

I couldn't believe it - so I thought I'd investigate and promptly went out and collected my rollator on the way so I could walk more safer. Well as soon as I got to the top lawn this sight greeted me...

Wow I thought - not seen this many before. They all look a little "dog-eared", so obviously some little being has had some fun chewing them....

Then I turned around to go along the lawn and I couldn't believe my eyes....

I mean what's going on? Okay my garden is looking close to a forest floor at times - the lawn is the only thing that is cut and tidied up, but if I've got all these fungi on it, how many are there in the rest of the garden - hidden by the trees and bushes? Luckily Pippin doesn't seem interested in them at all - so that's okay.

This little one looked like a coolie hat - quite sweet really. I've no idea what kind of fungi they are, but I don't fancy Googling them - I know there are hundreds of different kinds of them, so it would take me ages to distinguish them and that's too many hours to waste, when I'm not all that bothered. If anyone here knows what they are - please tell me and whether they're poisonous or something.

It now seems as if I won't be able to get to Turkey for Christmas. I've been looking up flights etc and to go directly to the airports near Mandi costs about £1,700 ($2,200) but I'd only be able to stay there 10 days maximum as there aren't any direct flights back after 14 November and I know I won't be able to manage to change planes on my own, as all the journeys back involved changing some 2 or 3 stops - and some of the journeys take around 20 hours!!!!! I know I wouldn't be able to handle that. Now I just have to tell Mandi and that's something I'm not looking forward to. I'll go out there as soon as the direct flights start up again and stay for the 2 months then - looks like end of March 2019 or something like that. Still on the bright side - it'll be getting lovely and warm then!!! LOL

Okay folks - I hope you all had a good weekend - I'm off to the dentist tomorrow which is great as the filling in my front tooth is loose and I'd like it replaced. I'm not scared to go to the dentist anymore, which is a good thing. I also need to get my flu jab as well as the pneumonia jab - I'm at that age they like to immunise against all sorts of things!!!
