Hiya folks, have been rather quiet of late - sorry!!!!

I've been trying to jiggle my time between my children and my neighbours and also trying to get over my Christmas away.

My daughter, Mandi, has come home, sans new hubby. She is sad at having to leave him back in Turkey, but it shouldn't be too long before he can join her here in the UK. She rang me last night when she got in after a mammoth journey. She'd left their hotel at 2am (our time) to go to the airport. It was a 2 hour flight to Istanbul and then a 3 hour wait there to catch her next plane to the UK. Then a 5 hour drive from Heathrow to her home - she eventually arrived at her home at 9pm - that's a long time travelling. She wanted to come up to see me today, but I told her to forget that - and just stay in bed today and try and catch up on some sleep. She has to go to work tomorrow!!!!

So yesterday while I was waiting to hear from her, I started cutting out strips of colour for my new quilt!! Yes I know I said I wasn't going to make another one for quite a while, but I've got the urge again!!! This time it's for me...............

I have decided on bright yellows, whites, greens and reds!! My bedroom is yellow and white so those colours should suit it very well.

I've decided to take photos as and when I do different things to this quilt, so you can see how it's progressing. That idea may only last a couple of times, so don't hold your breath!!!!

Here is the first stage - I've chosen a nice olive green square to be in the centre of each block. This material was once a layer of a dress of mine!!!!! - then I decided to put the white part next. This pattern is called "Log Cabin" and you sew the colours two at a time, then choose another colour for the next etc........

As you can see this is the second part - and I've chosen a bright yellow polka dot material. That's as far as I've got today - bearing in mind I do 16 at a time!!!!

All 16 squares have reached this stage, now I have to decide on what colour I'm going to use next!! Should be fun deciding that!!!!!

Hope you all have had a good weekend. I'm just going to go and see if my turkey stew/soup is coming along - popped the vegetables etc into the slow cooker this morning, with some arboreio rice to thicken it, and then added the already cooked turkey. I can smell it and it's good!!!!!!!!!! So it's now a case of cooking some potatoes and maybe adding some peas etc to the stew, but I think it'll need thickening a bit before serving! I think maybe a nice pear and coconut crumble/crisp with custard should finish off this meal nicely.

Speak to you all soon. xx
