Okay folks, it's Friday, the end of the week - but for me all days seem the same really. The only thing that's bugging me is that the sky has been this thick dark grey, completely grey - can't even see the outlines of the clouds - it's a mist apparently! You do get a tad on the downside when you have to have lights on for most of the day - but according to our friends in the Weather Bureau, tomorrow we can expect blue sky!!!!!!!!!!! Yipee - unless of course the winds change and we still have this damn grey!!

You poor people over there in the US are facing a really nasty storm - Hurricane Sandy - well, I may moan about our terrible weather, especially this year, but when all's said and done, we don't have that kind of fear at all. We do have the odd very strong wind which reaches around the 90mph, and some trees come down and tiles blow off the roof, but that isn't very often. As you all know I have many trees on my property, so if there is a warning of strong gales, I worry somewhat.

So what have I done today? I had woken up with the decision to carry on with my quilting - I'm at the hand sewing bit now. My hands and arms decided for me that it was a bad idea today!!! So that was put on the back burner til tomorrow. I needed to sort out my freezer, so I donned on my rubber gloves to stop my skin from freezing!!! I sorted stuff out, then promptly put them all back in there and they are still crammed in there!! Still it was sorted out.................

Then I decided to make some homemade shortbread - that done - I then started on a lovely warming vegetable soup. We are expecting the temps to drop significantly tonight - who can believe anything they say though!! LOL

I can smell it simmering in the kitchen, mmmm lovely smell. The shortbread has come out of the oven, been marked and is just cooling on the rack. I also made some bubble & squeak to go with a small pork tenderloin I'm going to have tonight. There is still some pineapple & coconut crumble (crisp) left over, and so I'll have to make some custard to go with it.

Okay that's supper sorted, the house is full of conflicting aromas, Pippin is sleeping in the other lounge, and another day is coming to a close. Tomorrow is Saturday and it's the qualifying round for the Indian Formula One Grand Prix and I'll be watching that, as I will on Sunday for the race itself. I'm not a great lover of sport really, but Formula One is my passion. I'd love to be able to drive fast round a circuit, in fact the idea of doing rallying appeals to me somewhat - you know - to drive like a madman/madwoman - when there's no worry about some poor idiot coming the other way!!!!!!! It would be great fun.

Okay that's enough for me - I've bored you enough. I'm going to go and have a sip of the soup, make some custard and then all will be well with the world - well my part of the world anyway!!!

My thoughts are with you who are concerned with Sandy coming, and have a great weekend folks. xx
