This week has been really busy, and entailed me being ‘boosted’ lol, in that I had my Covid booster. It was done at the local surgery so that made a nice change. I was sat down, in a room with 2 medical professionals unlike my flu jab! I even took a plaster with me following the flu jab fiasco, though thankfully, my arm barely bled this time around. I felt fine afterwards, no side effects to speak of apart from a mild headache, though the following day my arm was so sore, and it’s spent the past few days throbbing. Most of the younger staff in work have had their booster now, and my son is having his next week. I really do think I was forgotten about as I had neither a text nor email, and only got the booster after I chased it up.

In work we’ve all had a card and small box of chocolates as a thank you. A nice gesture, though the chocs were more like something you’d give a child rather than adults. The supervisor brought in chocolates too, and someone else brought in a tub of sweets. Not my thing, but again, a nice gesture.

Work has been very busy, and with only the occasional big trolley, I’ve managed to do relatively small picks so that I’m not overexerting my arm. No news of the intended X-ray as yet, and I doubt now that I’ll hear this year. It’s a drag and I suspect Covid will be the usual reason given for the delay. Meanwhile, my arm is keeping me awake at night. I did have 2 days where my supervisor suggested I start an hour later to ensure smaller picks were available. Having a lie-in those 2 days was wonderful though staying an hour later meant I was there whilst it was getting busy. Swings and roundabouts.

This week the landlord came to the house to, hopefully, fix an overflow issue. I don’t much care, though it was making a puddle just outside the back door, and when icy, it was a tad treacherous, plus, it can’t be doing the one wall any good, being constantly damp. Fingers crossed they’ve sorted the issue now and won’t need to come back any time soon. They’re talking of replacing a window, and one door, though these are expensive so I’m not holding my breath!

In work there’s been much hilarity with staff dressing up in Santa suits, garish suits with holly, and candy canes on them and the like. I’ve been wearing my Santa hat still, it’s lovely and warm lol. It gives us all something to smile about anyway. When ‘Santa’ handed me my gift and card, he said it was because I’d been good. Quick as a whip, I retorted: Really? And I try so hard not to be. LMAO.

Also in work, there was a big discount on clothing, and we’ve had extra staff discount, so I treated myself to a navy chenille dressing gown, complete with hood. It’s gorgeous, and so soft, and was an absolute bargain. I shall be snuggled up in that watching TV.

I have Monday off, then 3 days in work including an extra shift where it will no doubt be crazy busy. I’ll then have 5 days off and they can’t come soon enough. I’m looking forward to the break, and a respite after the Christmas craziness.

Take care, keep warm and safe.
