Mask wearing returns on Tuesday, what joy, and Sunday the store was so busy. I think people are stocking up in readiness for yet another potential lockdown. I did a quick top up shop though due to numbers in the store, it took me almost 45 minutes to do a top-up shop and get home. Crazy!
Today, I’ll check out stocks, and see what we’re getting short of, if anything, in readiness for stock issues. Some days the store has no paracetamol, other days it’s sugar we’re out of, or certain brands of milk… I think we, as a nation, are going to have to get used to shortages now and again as I don’t think this virus will ever really go away due to mutations and some not following guidelines. It is what it is.
In other news, I made another no knead loaf and this time put some toasted seeds on top. I think I should have used a ‘wash’ or put them in the raw dough as they just fall off when I cut the loaf lol. They look good though. The other photo is of ‘twisted’ dough balls that my son and I made. Not pretty, but my they tasted good! A bit like pizza, though rolled up and then baked.
We’ve had another ‘dusting’ of snow, and the roads Monday morning were quite icy. I’m so glad I don’t have to go anywhere for 2 days now. The dog has had intermittent walks due to the weather. Saturday it was high winds that cancelled his walk, and Monday it was icy conditions. No way would I take him, or even me, out if I don’t really have to. When it melts, he’ll get a walk, but until then…
Other than that, all is good. We’re keeping as healthy as possible, and as warm as possible. Work is ticking over. Family is okay. Can’t ask for much more than that :)
Those new clothes sound warm and very cosy. A little while ago I bought a woolen hoody in a sale, and I'm wearing that in the house to keep warm.
We love trying new recipes and ideas.
Silly thing this worry over a mutation.. Boris, Joe boy, and many are jumping the gun royally. ALL viruses mutate! Its natural.. And actually the more mutation the less deadly. It may be more contagious (It still not been found near any of us) but its the politicians trying to keep people scared. Any decent virologist will (and many already have) tell you that this really isn’t a concern. The boosters are becoming quite controversial. More and more doctors are saying hold off from the booster. My Hepatilogist doctor has, our new general practitioner, and Ricks cardiologist.. No worries here. Not even considering a booster after only 7 months! I am in no rush to have more issues due to that damn thing!
Those breads look great! You always have such a knack making them look delicious!
Bet these are particularly tasty!
You’ve had more snow than we have! Give it time. We’ll catch up and pass! Lol!
The handling of the booster seems very erratic. I've read that younger people are going to be offered it, and cut the time elapsed from 6 to 3 months. I'm in my 60's, work in a supermarket, had the second dose a little over 6 months ago, and still haven't been offered the booster. I went on the website yesterday afternoon, and there were over 4,000 people in front of me to just make a query. I kid you not!
They did taste good too, though I confess, I'm my biggest critic and rarely post what I consider 'failures' lol.
I'm sure you will overtake us on snow. I don't mind if I never see the white stuff again though I doubt we'll be that lucky. It can look pretty, but it's cold, dangerous too going out before 6am in the dark, and leaves such a slushy mess once it does melt. This morning, it's all gone and it is warmer.

It's the one I used to book mine ...
[It refused to let me book until I was eligible]
StoneRoad2013 club has replied to Bee OrchidWhen I asked at the "hub" they told me it takes "two weeks" after the booster for your immunity level to go back up to the high levels it would have had about a month after the second jab.
And I love the look of those breads, unfortunately, the suddenly increased level of stress I have at work atm has pushed my IBS into a flare-up. As a result, gluten is off my menu.
We love bread, my son calls us both bread whores lol. Hope your IBS calms down very soon.
