Lately, I’ve concluded that I’m a selfish person. It’s not a nice realisation, but there it is. Saturday, I was in an aisle picking orders, when a customer motioned that he wanted the shelf I was using. I moved my trolley forward, though it transpires that wasn’t what he wanted, and he proceeded to ram my trolley with his; it seems he wanted to carry on in the aisle without having to go around me. How selfish was that of me? Joking apart, I stated, very loudly, please just wait, and I then moved my trolley to the opposite side of the aisle. I made sure others in the aisle, including a colleague, realised something was going on in case he tried to escalate matters. What a jerk!
Saturday night, just as I was going to bed, my lovely neighbours decided to break out the piano and started to sing along with the piano. I eventually fell asleep, then they woke me just before midnight, and again at 1.30am. I’d already heard somebody banging and shouting that they were trying to sleep. At 2.10am, I put on some joggers and went outside in the rain where I banged on their door until they answered it. I told them I had to get up for work in a couple of hours, that they were keeping me awake, and referred to police and unsociable noise, then told them to Turn it down, please! I said please, I even amazed myself! They just stood looking at me with their mouths open lol. I stomped back into my house, and the music ceased though they were then talking loudly, and at 4.30am, were having an argument. I left just after 5.30am, and they were still arguing. Sheesh! So, me expecting to be able to sleep at night? Selfish or what? LMAO
Since masks came back into force in England, the store has been very quiet. Wednesday and Thursday it was eerily quiet with barely any customers in. It picked up later in the week, but footfall was well down on previous weeks, and orders are starting to creep up again. Rudeness is on the increase too, and I blame the ‘anonymity’ of wearing a mask; people think they can get away with rudeness because we can’t see most of their face. One good win, and I’m out of there…
I didn’t do much overtime this week, and that was a nice change to be honest. Next week I’m a tad busy in that we have an optician appointment, then I have an appointment at the hospital eye clinic. I think I already have a slight eye infection as my vision is a little blurry, and one eye is slightly pink. I blame the masks, I really do. If the specialist confirms it’s an infection, I’m going to ask for a letter for my employer so that they’ll let me wear a visor; I can’t keep going from one infection to another.
Other than that, we’re good. It’s very cold here, very windy, and very wet too though I prefer rain to snow; twice recently I’ve needed to clear snow from the car before I could go to work. Nasty stuff! Lol Never liked it as a kid, still don’t.
Take care, try and keep warm, and keep safe.

I hear about peoples' attitude etc in town from Emily or my neighbours and I must admit - I'm not in any hurry to go out and see for myself. The people who do come to my home are wonderfully polite and friendly - so to meet others who are rude, well that would be horrible.
As for your neighbours - there is an unspoken rule about noise etc after 10pm isn't there? I think that next time, I wouldn't bother getting wet just to ask them to turn it down - I'd just ring up the police and let them get wet!!!
I hope you get your eyesight back to normal soon, there's nothing more scary to me than the fear of losing my sight. Take care of yourself too and stay safe.
Everyone I talk to mentions the increasing rudeness, and our union are constantly on at the government about the rise in assaults on shop workers.
Not even sure the rule is unspoken, though I'll google it at some point and if it carries on, I will report them. Sunday night, not a peep out of them, and I slept for 8 hours! I was shattered.
Hopefully the eye clinic will be able to give me antibiotic drops, or something to clear up whatever it is.
Don't get me started on the stupidity of masks and the rest of the ignorance out there! If these damn politicians would stop using this virus to a means things would settle. Vaccinated not vaccinated once a virus deveops, its here to stay. Our bodies adjust etc. The bubonic plague started in the I believe, 15th century. There are still cases every year.
Until you get to the clinic, use a hot as you can stand teabag on your eye. It must be regular tea. Something in the tanic acid and heat soothes and helps. My mother used to have me do that for pink eye or a on a stye. Worked every time..Did that for my daughter too.
I've read the 'evidence' tho I fail to see how a cotton or paper mask can stop something that is microscopic. They didn't stop me having hay-fever, nor a cold, at the height of the pandemic. We wear one, or else risk a large fine. Meanwhile, politicians are, as usual, a law unto themselves and can safely flout any rules they pass that they don't want to abide by. Meh!
