The visiting King
A local King Parrot who often comes visiting for some seed and a drink. Another shot of him shortly after in the note, when some seeds stuck to his wet beak.

The video is unrelated, but from the small island of Ambrym, part of the island nation of Vanuatu devastated this weekend by a huge Category 5 cyclone. We visited there some years ago, shortly after a Category 1 cyclone, and they had been badly hit by that. All I can say is that our thoughts are very much with the lovely people there, in the absence (yet) of news. This is the traditional 'Rom Dance' : the costumes are used once then discarded so that spirits do not linger. The other men wear little more than 'nambas', essentially a p*n*s sheath. www.youtube.com/watch?v=vD30nwKuF-U

Aren't we lucky to have such fabulous birds in Australia...and in our gardens...
The Vanuatu cyclone looks appalling....luckily WA and Qld have escaped pretty lightly from the recent two here by comparison.
