Rainbow Lorikeet

Birds

Folder: Nature
The photos in this album have been taken mostly, but not always, in Australia. Quite a number will have been taken in the Antarctic and sub-Antarctic islands.

I am gradually moving the content of my "Birds" album here from F*****r. As I do so, it is likely to seem as if I take nothing but bird photos. That isn't normally so!

Superb Blue Wren (male)

I photographed this male Superb Blue Wren in a Melbourne back yard. They are quite tiny and almost constantly moving. Vivitar (Komine) 135/2.8

Superb Blue Wren (female)

This female Superb Blue Wren was jumping around the bushes with the male, so I presume they are a pair. An interesting contrast in plumage! Vivitar 135mm 2.8.

New Holland Honeyeater

This New Holland honeyeater was eating nectar from these neighbouring shrubs. I was bemused by the orange patch on its forehead until I realised it is pollen. RMC Tokina 200/3.5 + Kenko X1.4 TC.
