Wonderful light and composition especially the first one, the dogs seem to be enjoying it more than the owner. I have tried full screen it is perfectly sharp enough for the subject. Pixel peeping has become a bit of an obsession one of the reasons film cameras and using vintage lens on mirrorless cameras has become popular the old lens had faults in their design which give their images character which is lacking in modern ones.
I hope you are having a pleasant day Rosalyn, it's dull dark and dismal not a leaf moving November !! there is a saying about dull November days but I can't remember it properly

That's very nice Peter. Aren't we lucky to be able to look things up so easily nowadays! It must stop a lot of conversations though, as we would normally have asked someone or made a quick phone call! I have to say though, that I love the cheerfulness of a warm winter evening in front of the fire. Very cosy, and just a small light to read a good book.

The bright golden light is just heavenly................especially where it's reflected on the water and wet sand................and I like the silhouetted land and harbour wall. You can see from the waves and the water action how windy it was! The tiny doga and silhouetted figure on the beach are lovely. The dogs looks as if they're having a great time.

I like the PiP too....................maybe not the sharpest, but when you look back on it in a few years, you'll remember immediately what the weather was like that day! That's what photography is all about for me.

I think the weather was winning on this day Keith :-) I thought all the pictures I took would be rubbish, but some aren't too bad. I'm still going through the 500+....I have deleted some though.
I am pleased that you like the main shot and happy with your kind comments on both.

Yes you're right, I will remember the weather and what a great time we had with the family. A much needed break for us all.

What a great pair of shots, even if they weren't quite as still as you'd hoped for. Just goes to show how windy it was, WOW! I have to agree with everyone's comments above. The blowing sand in the main image is just terrific and I'm glad you didn't get any in your camera. I once took a camera out on Ocean Beach in San Francisco and the wind was so fierce the sand was everywhere. I risked a couple of pictures but still couldn't keep the sand out. Happily I could blow the granules out and all was well but I did learn a lesson that day!

I kept my distance from the sand and did eventually put the camera away :-) I wanted to join in the fun with the rest of them, all fighting against the wind...we are all kids at heart, haha! Rosa, las fotos tienen una luz especial, como ya te han dicho muchos. Has fotografiado la playa de BUDE que esté conectada con la de SOPELANA, por un cable submarino de datos. A su vez el cable une a ambas con las cercanías de NY. Precisamente en la playa que alterno. En su día hice alguna foto de los trabajos y las compartí en Ipernity. Puedes intentar ver muchas fotos escribiendo en el buscador de Google “cable submarino sopelana” esto no es un enlace, solo una dirección donde a mí me salen decenas de fotos. Buenas noches.

Lovely pictures, almost a golden beach with the man and his playful dogs.
It seems quite windy and almost a Gold Finger movie scenario, en ter Bond, James Bond.
You shot at 4000 th of the second with DIN 400 and even then you think they are not so sharp...
I can only imagine you were lucky not to be "transported" by that wind.

Very evocative! The wind seems to even out the landscape, sometimes in a light ochre, sometimes in a pale blue.
Cornwall is definitely full of contrasts.

Thank you for your kind comments Eric. There seemed to be a lot of sand in the air, so I was quick to take the photo and then put the camera away....and find a warm cafe ;-))

A cafe is certainly warming, Rosalyn, and wiser than a pub which, I presume, is also plentiful in this region ;-)

I really like the stormy atmosphere of this fine coastal composition Rosa. The light in both pictures is wonderful, highlighting the affect of the strong wind on both land, the beach, and sea.
