Clovelly Harbour
Clovelly, North Devon, is a fishing village known for its cobbled streets and small harbour. The village is built into a cleft in a 400ft (122m) high cliff and tumbles its way down past whitewashed cottages to the tiny working port. It is famous for its donkeys, which traditionally carry goods up the hill; sledges bring things down. The first PiP shows The Red Lion Hotel on the harbour and the second PiP, a view across the houses on the way down.

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to BoroThe main image is beautifully framed.........the archway leads the eye nicely into the shot. As always I love the detail you capture, in this case particularly in the cobblestones. The little boats and the cottage with the balcony are delightful.
I especially like the composition in the first PiP..........and the view out to sea. Despite the threatening sky, the light is gorgeous. I like the look of the pub and that seating area.
The second PiP is lovely...........I like the cottage and the wooden beams above the windows. The view from it must be wonderful.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend..!!
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Keith Burton clubI love the view from the archway, which incidentally leads to the pub! There is a lot of outdoor seating and I'm sure they do very well in a normal season.
Sunday greetings and good new week ahead.

My favourite picture is the first, so beautifully framed , with the view from the archway inviting us to visit the harbour and may be have a stop at The Red Lion, looking at the boats and enjoying the warm sunshine...but the PiPs too, are so fine ...how lucky must the owner of the white cottage be, with such a view and silence!
Thank you for sharing all this my friend and have a good new week ahead.

And we feel like tunneling at once to reach this dream corner by the sea.
The other two pictures and your words make me think of Madeira Island with its sledges.
Ok, if we still can make life be painted and shown this way, I am in for the ride.
Happy new week to you.
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to J. Gafarot clubYes I have seen the sledges in Madeira....no pollution at all with that mode of transport :)
Best wishes and good new week ahead for you.

A wonderful, interesting and timeless set of picture, which I like very much!
You can imagine how smugglers would love these little alleyways!
Great colours too!
I must try to visit there soon!
Best Wishes, HBM, a nice week ahead, and stay safe!!
Peter
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Peter_Private_Box clubThank you for your kind comments and I am pleased you like the series.
Yes I'm sure there were smugglers galore at some point.
Probably best to visit out of season, as it's popular in the summer.
Best wishes,
Rosa.
