Great shot Rosa! Like the title but a little out of my league at £825 a bottle for house wine.

Thank you Doug. I am pleased to be able to tell you that the house wine is £8.25 :-))
The decimal point is not too clear. I had to zoom in on it.
Cheers, Rosa.

I'd be tempted to visit, but Doug has picked up on my main concern. A great shot though, without the cost!

I hope you will be tempted when I tell you the house wine is £8.25 George. They wouldn't last long in Castle Cary if it was more than that ;-))

Beautiful architecture, Rosa. I love the colour contrast between the orange and the green. I love also the view round the corner. Cheers, Joe

Thank you for your kind comments Joe. The thatched building in the distance is The George Inn, which is sadly closed at the moment. Cheers, Rosa.

I love your title Rosa..............I bet the shot leans a little more after a bottle of the house plonk!

I love the fancy brickwork and the green painted highlights...........and you've captured it in super detail. I like the look of the weather vane.

I hope you stocked up while you were there.............it would have been your last chance.

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Keith Burton club
I'm sure you're right Keith ;-)) I'm pleased you noticed the weather vane. I had to stand well back to get it in. Yes it was my last chance. I was there with Sophie and my daughters, but we only found out on returning home that we were in a strict lockdown again. I'm really pleased I had the chance to see them when I did, 'cos I haven't seen them since :(

Many thanks for your kind comments and I hope you are having a good weekend, despite the weather.

Ha! there are some who could afford and would pay £825 for a bottle. Me £4.99 in Tesco's.
That's a tight left hand turn for any larger vehicle coming down the hill.

Nor me Maurice, although it is actually £8.25 ;-) I'm more of a tonic water with ice and lemon kind of person :))

It's a lovely building that looks as though it may have been a proper pub at some time in it's history and the window on the far left has had a major modification by the look of it, A great shot with plenty of interest Rosa,

I am not sure of it's history Roger. I do remember it being a florists about 10 years ago. Something interesting for me to look up. Many thanks for your kind comments.

Lovely colours on the fascia boarding (if that's what it's called). The new lockdown is tight here, too. I managed to meet my oldest daughter in mid-December in a pub car park, the pub was closed, where we swapped Christmas presents. I haven't seen my middle daughter and family who live in Edinburgh for almost a year, and our youngest was supposed to t come up to Shropshire on Christmas eve until Boxing Day and that didn't happen. We have finally posted everyone else's Christmas presents. We therefore don't have a bubble, but just keep to ourselves and get out for walks as much as possible. I await the coronavirus jab with impatience.

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Amelia club
Thank you Amelia. They have picked an attractive colour. Not seeing your children and grandchildren is the worst aspect of the lockdowns. The reason we were in Castle Cary was to meet with Michelle and exchange Christmas presents, also in a car park. We did have a lovely walk together though. Wincanton started inoculating on Friday, but I guess it will be a while before I am called. Take care and look forward to better months ahead.

Not sure if I remember the shop, although the name is familiar (I might be confusing it with Wizard Wines in the `80s, a fore-runner of Majestic Wines).
Fine shot though, and I agree the lack of clarity in the pricing might just put off a small minority of the exceedingly poor!

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Andy Rodker club
This shop would not have been a wine shop in the 80's Andy. I don't remember what it was then, but could have been a florists. I had to look twice to check the price when I was there! Not that I was buying any wine that day :)

Thank you for your kind comments Jose Manuel. I was quite impressed with the top window, as it covers the slight change of direction of the wall below. The builders did a good job :)

Wonderful composition
