Such a shame that you can't be with them all Rosa..............but you'll be able to phone or video call no doubt..............not the same I know, but better than nothing.

It's my Grandson's birthday later this month so I know how you feel as we won't be able to see him either.

I can see why you like this photo so much..............it's beautiful. I remember camping in the garden when I was young, my daughters used to do it and my grandchildren did it in our garden last year.

Yes, it's a good job we have the technology now Keith. My daughter is brilliant and made the first lockdown such fun for Sophie. I mustn't forget my son-in-law, he's pretty good too :) As the weather was so good back then, they slept outside for two nights and cooked breakfast out there as well.

What a lovely family you are and such beautiful smiles. It must be hard to be apart on a day like today. Veda and I usually hug at the end of a meeting and I felt quite sad that we couldn't on Friday. So I can imagine how much more you must feel it. I hope Sophie had a lovely birthday. I know you would be an important part of it even if at a distance.

Oh thank you Jean. It is hard not to hug, but hopefully soon we will be able to. We did have a video call last night and they were having great fun....just the three of them and the dog! Luna wasn't going to be left out!!

The restrictions are difficult to bear at times, and I'm sure that Sophie has missed seeing you too. I was going to ask if they stayed in the tent overnight, but have just read your reply to Keith.

With the average of Ipernity users, I expect many will have grandchildren and can't wait for the day we can spend time with them again. Lyndsay and Lee got the glitter ball fixed up last night and they all had a fun evening. I sent Sophie a voucher for her favourite shop and a book, "Heroic Animals" by Claire Balding. I shall look forward to borrowing that :-))

Rosa, I SO hope Sophie had a GREAT day yesterday, she is growing up so so fast, JUST like my 3 grand daughters, and one MARRIED already :))) wow.... enjoy her, and again, tell her a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY from a lady over in the U S A :)) hope you all are staying well. the virus is picking up here, and friends of ours right now have the Covid..:((( my oldest brother in Dallas, Texas also has it, got it in the hospital when having back surgery :((((

Hi Sarah, yes Sophie had a lovely time on her birthday, thank you. She has made 3 lovely friends at senior school. They are just like her, loving animals and eager to learn. Let's hope they keep it up :-)) I am so sorry to hear that your friends and brother are suffering from C-19. It's a terrible virus. Even more important than wearing a mask is washing your hands regularly, especially when supermarket shopping. I always carry gel with me even though the shops are very good and all offer it on entrance and exit. Do take care Sarah. Best wishes, Rosa.

Thank you for your very kind comments. It was Sophie's last year at junior school when the first lockdown happened and she was due to go on a school adventure camping holiday, which had to be cancelled, so Lyndsay thought it would be fun to do it in their garden. They all loved it, including Luna!! I had a nice video link up and watched Sophie open her presents, which was lovely in the circumstances.

Children are often happy with simple things...better camping in the garden than video games!!

They are a fun family dear Adele. Of course the dog has to join in ;-) The rabbits were very close by as well!! Only the goldfish stayed indoors ;-)) Yes the outdoor life is so much better for them.
