Two outstanding images Rosa. The main one is definitely my fave...........it's so dynamic in B/W (except for the flag) and the harsh, contrasty light makes it even more so! Brilliant work!

The colour version is excellent............the spray and mist coming off the prop and merging with with the clouds make it very atmospheric and the colour makes the hovercraft stand out agains the background.

Have you ever been to the Hovercraft Museum at Lee-on-Solent? I was lucky enough to get on a private tour a few years ago and we were allowed to use a cherry-picker to get high up for a few unusual shots. I have an album in my collection if you're interested.

Thank you very much Keith. I only visited this album as my brother asked for a particular photo I took on that visit, then I noticed this b&w one that I had forgotten all about. I probably meant to show it at the time.

It is just so fascinating watching the hovercrafts. I expect you are used to them! The museum sounds really interesting. I have put it on my list but will not get to that area until spring next year now. My auntie and uncle are in their 90's so we have to be very careful. Mauri is in good health but Joyce could be very vulnerable.

A very dynamic image, Rosa. I love the contrast between the relative calm of the water and the turbulence in the wake of the hovercraft.

I have been the Isle of Wight once. The ferry on which I made the crossing was built in my hometown. It was called the Shanklin. It was renamed Prince Ivanhoe and she sank in the Bristol Channel at Port Eynon in South Wales, a place I know well from many childhood holidays there.

Oh what a shame the ferry sank in the Bristol Channel! I see Port Eynon is the most southerly part of The Gower. Next time I visit my friends in Wales, I will try to remember the name and maybe we will visit it. Sadly that won't be until next spring now. I was looking forward to a visit there this year, but not possible :(

Servicio rápido y poco pasaje. La fotografía está bien ambientada, pero no sé que hace ese hovercraft. la orilla de la playa. De Portsmouth el Brittany Ferries viene a Bilbao en 24 horas, últimamente no le veo en la mar desde la costa, quizá esté suspendido también.

Thank you Jose. The Hoverport is right on the beach. My friends have been on the Brittany Ferry to Bilbao and from Plymouth to Santander (?) I think.

I have never been on a hovercraft. It looks exciting. :-))

I haven't either Amelia. It takes so little time that it would be a perfect way to spend a day on the Isle of Wight. One for the list I think.

You managed to catch the power of the hovercraft! I remember several Channel crossings on a hovercraft, once in rough seas when they had to reduce speed and lots of people got sick...

Thank you Gudrun. I have been lucky on my channel crossings, except for once, and it was awful! The same as you experienced!!

Great stuff Rosa! I love the silver tones and the strong contrasts on the choppy water. The spray trail created by the propellers of the hovercraft add a great sense of movement.
