Gower Peninsula

Gower Peninsula
Gower or the Gower Peninsula is in South Wales. It projects westwards into the Bristol Channel and is the most westerly part of the historic county of Glamorgan. In 1956, Gower became the first area in the United Kingdom to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty ~ With PiP of Worm's Head.

I AM HAVING PROBLEMS UPLOADING THIS MORNING ON IPERNITY AND I AM NOT ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE "PRIVATE" MODE ON MY HFF PICTURE I UPLOADED LAST NIGHT!!
All seems to be fixed now, thankfully :-)

Tanja - Loughcrew, Andy Rodker, Istvan Farkas, Annemarie and 21 other people have particularly liked this photo

Great composition.................the portrait orientation work perfectly for this shot. That's a really impressive lump of rock and the people on top give a great sense of scale. Beautifully done Rosa. I'm really enjoying your photos from Wales.

Very kind of you Keith, thank you. We were invited into the coastguards hut and they had the strongest binoculars I have ever looked through....and the coastguard was from Somerset!

Hi Rosa,

It certainly meets its 'outstanding natural beauty' title, and a great pair of pictures. I like the portrait orientation, and especially the row of people giving scale.

Best Wishes
Peter

Lovely captures Rosa, a distant Somerset in the main image,
I used to work with a chap from the Gower and he never stopped singing about it!

Another wonderful coastal capture the group of people give a great impression of the size of the cliffs. Another group you may not of heard of is the Secret Photographer Challenge the current competition is Statues you have plenty of time to submit 3 images

Thank you very much Peter. It is good to get some scale, so I was pleased to see the people there. I haven't got the time for competitions at the moment, but will bear it in mind in the future.

Yes, seems a few bugs are on the way here, I also can't reply your last comment on my photo and I can not see my own comments anymore and it seems the "Fav." stars are counted incorrectly...

Nevertheless - also a good WE for you, Rosa!

Something curious, somehow all the coasts of celtic influence are very similar. Wonderful seascape Rosalyn with thatt prominent green cliff by the sea.

A really nice capture of this rugged coastal scene Rosa. It is certainly a beautiful landscape and not surprising that is has been designated accordingly.

Thank you for your kind comments Doug. My friends in Wales gave me the choice of two places to visit on that day and I am so pleased I chose the Gower! Absolutely beautiful.
