Interior of my ancestor's home in Portland Oregon

Interior of my ancestor's home in Portland Oregon
My great grandfather's home - the dresser on the left now lives in my mother's house where I grew up - it almost touches the ceiling - so these ceilings are very very tall!

Günter Klaus, TRIPOD MAN, Fred Fouarge, LotharW and 12 other people have particularly liked this photo

A precious testimony of your roots, when everything seems to be slipping away from under our feet. The past is as founding as the future, even when it seems faded or outdated to us. Isn't it?
A series and a tribute that warms my heart, really.

Thank you, Eric. I agree about the past being important. It's a balance we all have to do between past, now and the future.

So glad it warmed you for at least a moment.

yes. while i so enjoy having these photos, i do not feel the life of the people who lived there. it is staid and empty.

So many patterns in one space. I would think that would be hard to live with, but in my house I have piles of things that create many visual patterns also - haha.
