An unexpected find! Commissioned by William Drummond around 1863 and built in the same year by a well-known local stone mason and sculpture, William Barclay. It is also known as the Martyrs Monument and occasionally as Salem Rock (source: Britain Explorer website )

In Stirling's old town, heading down the hill from the castle. This is where a weekly market used to be held.
Obviously, the bins and satellite dishes don't exactly enhance the scene, but there's no airbrushing here.
