Yes the water often rises to the top of the stone wall and sometimes a few feet higher. The locals are used to this and are well prepared..!!

The pub is believed to be roughly 450 years old and it is known locally for its involvement in smuggling in the 18th century. It is reputedly haunted by a "woman in white" who fades into a wall, when seen.

I checked Google Earth and found the exact location of this great photo, north of Langstone Harbour. Have a nice weekend, Keith.
