Well spotted and captured Keith being an ex sailor you could have tied a decent knot for them !! I think I have a similar photo somewhere my page 38 I remember now there used to be something called The Peoples Gallery I sometimes used to have a few printed quite large and frame them I think that was one that disappeared when it closed which annoyed me as it was quite costly to do

Thanks for your visit and generous comments Peter......I'm really pleased you like this one.

In the RN, this sort of messy "knot" was called a Stokers Dhobi Hitch..!!

I've just visited your Page 38 and found the photo you referred to. It is remarkably similar to mine. I've left and comment for you..!!

Oh bugger you've already done the knot pun, I would say it's a ropey shot, I mean that in a good way because as ever this is a cracking shot, great focus and bokeh.

Unknotting a knot only requires a very sharp knife..!!

Something like a Gordian knot. What you leave tied on earth will be tied in the hereafter. I remembered this verse because of the subject and the setting.

Keith Burton club has replied to Anton Cruz Carro club
That sounds very complicated to me Anton.

As I understand it Alexander the Great was challenged to untie the knot. He made it uncomplicated by just cutting through it with his sword. This is used as a metaphor for inventing an unexpected method to solve a seemingly intractable problem.
