Das Poster ist richtig schön gemacht lieber Keith,schön ist dieser Anblick,da hast du Recht,wie das heute mit dem Lesen ist,ich war früher immer ein Karl May Fan und haben diese Bücher immer gerne gehabt,aber auch andere Bücher von der Kindheit waren immer dabei :))

Times are changin'... we feel sorry but do young ones... as they have other entertainement sources like smartphones, tablets, tv...

I'm not against change...........but reading (and writing) are basic skills all children need to learn, even in these technological times :-)

In today's times, moving images are preferred over books..

What a great poster. I have always loved reading, and I am so pleased that my parents kept all my books, and my children have read them and they're all still in my house to be lent to anyone who wants their children to read.

I'm glad you like the poster Jenny. I completely understand what you're saying, I read a lot as a child and still do as an adult, and so did both my daughters...........my grandchildren both love books and reading too.

I'm sure she won't mind my mentioning it, but my wife hardly read as a child, except at school and she grew up having hardly read anything except magazines etc until the Covid 19 lockdowns. She tried a few books and discovered a real love of reading.............now she reads all the time and our house is full of books. How brilliant..!!

I have to admit though, that I use a Kindle most of the time now...........mainly because I can make the font bigger and easier to see :-)))

What a lovely lot of books! Reading books as a child could keep me engrossed for hours. A book is like experiencing the humour and feelings of the characters. I still love reading. My children were and are the same. I remember my daughter missing her bus stop and having to walk back from the next stop. She was too busy reading. Sad that today's kids only want their electronics.

Ich habe erst nicht erkannt, dass es ein Poster ist. Ich hatte es für ein Bücherregal gehalten.
Ja, das Lesen von Büchern ist sehr wichtig für Kinder. Es regt die Fantasie an. Es gibt nichts schöneres als Kopfkino. Leider fehlt heutzutage vielen Kindern diese Erfahrung. Es ist schade, dass manche Eltern ihre Kinder zu wenig fördern.

I'm trying to track down and buy all my lost vintage childhood books at the moment. I'm getting nostalgic in my old age.

Etsy can be a good source of vintage books...........and at cheaper prices than specialist bookstores.

I was amazed at how much interest this photo got.............I think you're probably not the only nostalgic one on here Rachel.
