Bokeh Of Leaves

Some of the leaves in my backyard. Taken yesterday, on October 30th, 2016, with my Sony SLT-a77v DSLR.

Sunset At Garden Of The Gods

01 Nov 2016 2 6 454
Taken yesterday, October 31st, 2016, at the Garden of the Gods park in the Shawnee National Forest. I used my Sony SLT-a77v DSLR with a Minolta 2X M-A Converter-S which allowed an old Minolta MD-mount manual focus Super Paragon PMC II Auto Tele Zoom 80-200mm lens to fit on the digital body. The equivalent focal length would have been around 1200mm and it was hand-held! Of course, the shutter speed was 1/4000 of a second, so that helped a lot!

Steps

A friend of mine hired me to replace the stairs to her mother's deck. So, that's what I did this afternoon - the Thompson's water seal wasn't even dry yet when I took this shot. Taken on November 1st, 2016, with my Sony SLT-a77v DSLR.

November Rose

02 Nov 2016 2 397
I took this picture earlier today just before sunset. The rose bloomed out yesterday, November 1st, 2016. It's been unseasonably warm here, so that's why I still have roses blooming at this late point in the year.

Still Life With Fruit

04 Nov 2016 11 13 782
Wherever my family lived, my late Mother's milk glass bowl of artificial fruit would grace the center of our dining room table. I decided to dig it out of retirement and use it for this shot. For the Saturday Self-Challenge group - frame within a frame.

Turkey Vegetable Soup

28 Nov 2016 3 2 382
The week before Thanksgiving, I cooked a turkey and made a batch of turkey vegetable soup to can. This was the first batch of seven quarts out of the pressure cooker. I ended up getting 11 quarts of soup and 3 quarts of broth. (The pressure cooker holds 7 quarts at a time, so I filled up the second batch with broth to make 7 quarts.)

Custom Ford Ranger Pickup

25 Apr 2017 404
I saw this nice Ford Ranger (the ORIGINAL kind of Ranger) parked over in front of the ballpark in Evansville, Indiana on August 28th, 2016. It had been customized with an added hydraulic bed. Maybe restored, too, but it's hard to tell. It looked great, is all I know!

Apple

For some reason, I've always been fond of Granny Smith apples.

Horning In

18 Apr 2019 4 448
There was a wedding reception held by the Benton Lake on Saturday, so even though I wasn't the official photographer, from my vantage point I got some shots of the bride.

Beautiful Country Estate

Handy access to cows. No near neighbors. Enjoy country living at it's finest! Call now to set up an appointment to see this wonderful place.

Gone Fishin'

14 Apr 2019 297
A long telephoto shot of a relaxed fisherman out on Benton Lake today, Saturday, April 13th, 2019. Benton Lake is located just a mile or so outside of Benton, Illinois, and my family used to hold their family reunions at the lake's side for many decades. It was held there back into the 1950s up until the 1980s, when they moved the reunions to different locations around Benton.

White Bird

13 Apr 2019 1 1 319
I shot this white duck today, April 14th, 2019, at Benton Lake, located about 50 minutes from my house.

That's No Moon! Oh, Wait....

18 Apr 2019 210
I watched Star Wars again the other night.

Me And The Cannon, 2019

This is me standing next to a howitzer that used to sit beside Benton Lake. They have moved it into town near the square now.

Grilled Salmon With Hollandaise Sauce

23 Sep 2020 1 264
For dinner tonight, I cooked grilled salmon with hollandaise sauce, scalloped potatoes and breaded okra. I'd never tasted, or made, hollandaise sauce before, but it complimented the fish perfectly. The place setting is an antique and was hand-crocheted by my Grandmother Wright. I was cooking all day - for lunch I had a mushroom and cheese omelette, with fresh organic mushrooms, and in the afternoon I made some banana-nut bread. Yum yum! I'm sure glad I can cook!

Packard

It looked like somebody had plans to maybe restore this old Packard.
