Im Hauptbild sieht man ja echt,dass er nur winzig ist!Der Käfer ist recht klein (ca. 3 bis 4,5 mm) und hat ein charakteristisches gelb-schwarzes, unregelmäßiges Muster auf dem Halsschild und den Flügeldecken, das an alte Schriftzeichen oder Hieroglyphen erinnert.Man findet ihn häufig an sonnigen Waldränder, Gebüschen, Hecken und Wiesen. Er bevorzugt feuchtere und sonnige Standorte, oft in der Nähe von Gewässern oder Flussauen. Sowohl die Käfer als auch ihre Larven ernähren sich pflanzlich (herbivor), insbesondere von den Blättern verschiedener Weidenarten und manchmal auch von Pappeln oder Birken.Wie für Fallkäfer typisch, lassen sich die Tiere bei Gefahr oft einfach vom Blatt fallen, um Fressfeinden zu entkommen :))

The main image really shows just how tiny it is! The beetle is quite small (approx. 3 to 4.5 mm) and features a distinctive, irregular yellow-and-black pattern on its pronotum and wing cases that resembles ancient characters or hieroglyphs. It is frequently found along sunny forest edges, in thickets and hedgerows, and in meadows. It prefers moist, sunny habitats, often near bodies of water or river floodplains. Both the beetles and their larvae are herbivores, feeding primarily on the leaves of various willow species and sometimes on poplars or birches. As is typical for case-bearing leaf beetles, they often simply drop from the leaf when threatened to escape predators :))

Sur la photo principale, on voit bien sa taille minuscule ! Ce coléoptère est assez petit (environ 3 à 4,5 mm) et présente un motif irrégulier jaune et noir caractéristique sur son pronotum et ses élytres, évoquant une écriture ancienne ou des hiéroglyphes. On le trouve fréquemment en lisière de forêt ensoleillée, dans les buissons, les haies et les prairies. Il affectionne les endroits humides et ensoleillés, souvent près des points d'eau ou des plaines inondables. Les coléoptères et leurs larves sont herbivores et se nourrissent principalement des feuilles de différentes espèces de saules, et parfois aussi de peupliers ou de bouleaux. Comme c'est souvent le cas chez les nécrophores, ils se laissent tomber de la feuille pour échapper aux prédateurs lorsqu'ils se sentent menacés. :))
