Ardrishaig.
This is the southern end of the Crinan Canal which is a historic waterway in Argyll and Bute, western Scotland. It is often called “Britain’s most beautiful shortcut” because it allows boats to avoid the long and exposed sail around the Mull of Kintyre and the treacherous waters of the Sound of Jura.
Length: 9 miles (14.5 km) Number of locks: 15 (including 2 sea locks at each end)
Opened: 1801 (full completion 1809) Grok.
Ardrishaig Is a classic west-coast Scottish village—peaceful, surrounded by hills and water,
HFF and a good weekend to all, ,,,, large view recommended!
