1000 years old?
At the very top of the country we find Castle Varrich overlooking the Kyle of Tongue,
The castle walls are generally 1.4 metres (5 ft) thick, or thicker, and have been built from roughly squared blocks of metamorphosed sandstone rock of varying thickness, laid in rough courses of random depth. The stones seem to have been laid without the use of mortar, and have suffered little from weathering, considering that the building may be 1000 years old, (wikipedia)

The NC 500: The Scottish 'North Coast 500' is one of the world’s most beautiful road trips. A route of just over 500 miles (516) of stunning coastal scenery, white sandy beaches, rugged mountains, remote fishing villages and hidden gems.

Roger (Grisly) club has replied to trester88 clubA very nice picture, which I like very much!
Wonderful and interesting composition, the wall sort of pointing to the little castle on the hill top.
The age is interesting. Quite a few churches seem to be of similar age, and still standing..
Great colours too
Best Wishes, HWW, a nice week ahead, and stay safe!!

Roger (Grisly) club has replied to Peter_Private_Box clubIt's exposed position and location at the very top of the mainland, kind of proves its a survivor!
