Thank you Rosa, it was a bitterly cold December evening and exif info shows 21.56, I remember being glad to get back into the warm carriage.
You may have guessed I'm a bit of a Van Morrison fan.

A great catch Roger. These trains look good at any time but here in the dark it has a special effect. Nice bit-o-fence too I might add!

Thank you Val, A lovely locomotive in my opinion.

'during it's last overhaul it was repainted back to it's original black colour,' Thank goodness for that. They were never painted blue, as they were primarily goods engines, which were painted black. They did however prove very useful on summer Saturdays, in the 50's & 60's, when there weren't enough passenger engines to haul the large number of trains carrying holiday makers, between the Midlands and the South coast.
Whatever the colour, it is still good to see one of my favourite classes of loco. in ipernity - so thank you.

You must have had a very powerful flash to get this kind of illumination. I am impressed!

Thank you Peter, I use a large flash that is matched to the camera and a separate slave unit, I think it's the slave that is reflecting off of the cab front.
