Jacksonville Reflections - grammar school (#0312)

Jacksonville Reflections - grammar school (#0312)
I never thought of my grammar school (Hendricks Avenue Elementary) as being almost elegant, but after seeing what is available in much of the rest of the U.S., mine looks rather special. It consists of multiple buildings (see next satellite view), but the main entrance is a very well preserved, aesthetically pleasing, structure set far off the street with a very wooded front entrance and lots of space on the other sides.

For non-American viewers: A ‘grammar school’ in the U.S. is the first level of schooling after kindergarten; when I was a child this was grades 1 – 6.

A.k.a. "elementary" school. "Grammar" school seems a bit old-fashioned, but maybe it's a regional thing.

Since I'm covering the past, I'm being old-fashioned :)
